Message: I recently traveled to Chicago and our initial hotel (Hotel Felix Chicago) gave away our room for no reason and rudely put us out on the street at 11pm at night with nowhere to go. Thankfully The Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel was able to get us a room at the last minute for a fairly reasonable price. The room and hotel were both gorgeous. The front desk service was friendly and attentive. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the river north area!

Message: I just don't understand these reviews.. this hotel is SPECIAL! It is beautifully preserved and renovated to its original glory. It's not a Hilton, people! It is historic and art deco and gorgeously decorated.. The bartender lucy was amazing, The bell staff was outstanding, Except for the one very rude, very unhepful bell woman, who never put her phone down in 4 days! She's a very negative 1st impression to what was otherwise an AMAZING weekend.

Message: We are totally in love with this amazing hotel and its outstanding restaurant! The location is very convenient, next to the subway, and it is easy to walk to theaters/ river. The restaurant overcame my expectations, food was delicious, and the servers were super nice! Thank you so much for making our first time in Chicago unforgettable!

Message: Hotel staff was friendly. Historical hotel that shows its age. Was good walking g distance for my husband and I to the Magnificent Mile, but may not be for everyone. Room was comfy, but may have previously been a smoking room. Bar was slightly overpriced, and walls were thin (way to go Douglas

Message: Cool old hotel, we didn’t mind the “small” rooms everyone was crying about in the reviews. The bartender was great! The location we didn’t care for, everything around us seemed closed and not much going on. Don’t expect a late checkout, we tried getting one on a Monday morning and were told the cleaning schedule was already set, so I don’t know why they are even offering it.

Message: The lobby is well maintained, however the rooms are bland and beds are not too comfortable. Slightly disappointed when we booked a room for an occupancy of 3 but only got a king size bed- no pull out or cot provided, so we had to see if there was another room open. Also, the windows were filthy! First receptionist told us they were fully booked, the second said they had a room available. I've worked in the industry, so I'm sure they had rooms blocked out for these cases, but was not worth the confusion and hard beds & pillows. You get what you get for the nightly price.

Message: The anesthetics were nice. It was giving Great Gatsby vibes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms.. the rooms, however.. needs a little work. The closet space is non-existent, the bathroom sink is awkwardly positioned, the bathroom toilet runs all night, the door could be better secured, the window provided no view and the TV had no streaming services available. The bed was comfortable and slept as well as I could.

Message: Love this hotel. Great location and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and nice size. Quiet. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is the sink in the bathroom. It is a basin type sink with the faucet located near the skinny end which does not allow for an adult male to wash their hands without banging your hands against the sink or the bottom of the faucet. Annoying as hell! Otherwise, shower has some power to it, but beware, the tub gets very slippery. Just be aware. Overall a great hotel in a great location.
