La Quinta Inn Chicago Oakbrook Terrace

Message: Awesome pool. Had issues with housekeeping up until the day before we checked out (was there 5 days).. Breakfast was okay. Very friendly staff.. Made reservation 1 week prior. Didn't receive confirmation email. Called back and there was no reservation under the name. Made a reservation again that day.. 1 day into our stay, there was an extra $100+ charge from the hotel for a "no show. " They spelled everything wrong on the first reservation but got all the credit card information correct.. Thankfully the girl at the front desk was so nice and situated everything out and we received the refund about 2 days later.. Bottom line. I would stay at this hotel again in the summer weather. The pool is worth the cons. For $99 a night in a really nice area too. They do need to have better housekeeping though. The first 2 days I had to vacuum my own room. Also they are pet friendly with no extra charge.!

Message: This is a pretty basic, low-cost hotel, so my rating is based on that (comparing apples to apples, as they say).. The really great thing about this location is the STAFF. They were all friendly and helpful. When we checked in, Keith gave us instructions for parking near the elevator because I have bad knees and then he hand-wrote directions to the Shedd Aquarium for us. In the morning, the staff let us leave a few items at the hotel while we went site seeing, and we picked them up in the afternoon on our way out of town. This is the kind of service that will definitely bring me back to this location if I'm ever staying in Chicago again.. The room, sheets, and towels were clean. Towels were higher quality than I expected. Free (wired) internet in the rooms, free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Breakfast was acceptable. Unlike one previous reviewer, I did find the cream cheese for my bagel; it's in the small fridge along with the hard boiled eggs and the yogurt. The neighborhood of this location felt safe and was very convenient. We had plenty of options for dinner even though we were eating a bit on the late side. We didn't go to Denny's, but it's right next door and gives a discount to La Quinta guests.

Message: Bed was comfy, room was clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately, the toilet ran almost non-stop and the water temp in the shower would NOT stay consistent.. From frozen to scalding every 45 seconds. Makes for a rough shower.

Message: The hotel was very clean and modern. The rooms were nice and provided many outlets to charge all of your gadgets. The staff was courteous and helpful. My only very tiny complaint was the breakfast. I don't need it to be fancy, but if you offer bagels you had better have cream cheese!

Message: The rooms were simple and a little small, but clean. Most of the fitness machines in the small fitness room that they have were broken, but I didn't come into that situation expecting much. The bathroom was fine, although some specific parts of it looked either beat up or grimy. Service seemed nice and the basic breakfast that they offer was appreciated. Overall, it was an inoffensive, cheap hotel.

Message: I really enjoyed my stay at La Quinta. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was good. It was within walking distance of a Denny's and we got 20% off by showing our hotel key. I will definitely stay at this hotel again!
